We are working exclusively with a food manufacturer that supplies high-quality products to retailers and B2B customers across the UK. Due to continued growth, the business is looking to appoint a part-time Quality Technologist at their site in Northamptonshire.

The role:
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the role of Quality Technologist will support in all aspects of food safety, quality assurance, customer compliance and legal standards and continuous improvement. The role plays a critical part in day to day operations, internal audits, customer documentation and the food safety culture development on site.
Key responsibilities:
- Lab testing - conducting routine testing of raw materials, in-process samples and finished products. Recording and analysing data meticulously, ensuring accuracy and reliability and preparing detailed reports of the findings.
- Quality Assurance - Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of quality assurance. Conducting internal audits and ensuring compliance of company standards, HACCP, BRC and other regulatory requirements.
- GMP Checks - Perform GMP checks to ensure all areas comply with sanitation and safety standards. Verify that all employees are adhering to personal hygiene standards and wearing appropriate PPE.
- Customer and Supplier Documentation Management - Respond to all customer technical queries and support in providing accurate compliance information. Assisting with the completion of raw material and finish product specifications as well as managing and maintaining supplier assessment questionnaires, certificates and ongoing risk assessments.
- Internal and External Auditing -Supporting the Technical and Quality Manager in the preparation for 3rd, customer and certification audits. Participating in internal audits and assist with the implementation and closure of corrective actions.
Candidate requirements:
- A degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or another related Science field
- A good understanding of UK and EU Food Safety regulations including HACCP, BRC, FSA standards.
- Strong written and verbal communicator
- Proficient in Microsoft office applications including Excel, Outlook and Word.
- An internal auditing qualification or experience conducting internal audits
- Familiarity with customer portals or online specification systems.
