We continue to partner with a leading multi-site food manufacturer that supplies a range of products to food service outlets, retailers, and B2B across the UK. They are looking to appoint a Supplier Quality Assurance Technologist to their team at the site in Bedford.

As a Supplier Quality Assurance Technologist, you will play a key role in ensuring that all raw materials and ingredients consistently meet rigorous quality, safety, and regulatory standards. You will collaborate closely with Procurement, R&D, and Quality teams, acting as a vital technical link between the business and its global network of suppliers.
Key responsibilities:
Managing the approval, onboarding, and ongoing evaluation of raw material suppliers, leading audits, and maintaining compliance with standards. You will ensure supplier documentation is always audit-ready, act as the quality lead during inspections, and oversee risk management related to supplier and raw material performance. Additionally, you will monitor regulatory developments, drive continuous improvement, and resolve supplier-related incidents.
You will support and develop the raw material technologist, promote best practices, and contribute to a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. You will also play a critical role in aligning supplier documentation and quality systems with group-wide harmonisation efforts. Candidate requirements:
- A degree in Food Science or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working in a similar position (Supplier assurance, Food safety lead, or Quality Supervisor position) within food manufacturing.
- A lead auditor qualification is highly desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work confidently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
