Technical Manager

We are working exclusively with a manufacturer of high quality chilled goods that are supplied to UK retailers and food service. The business is looking to appoint an experienced Technical Manager at their facility in Surrey. My client is offering a salary of £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience. The role: The Technical Manager position is a key leadership role in the business. You will be focused on delivering a culture of food safety and technical excellence across the site and ensuring that all products produced exceed quality expectations. You will lead the technical and quality function, driving a continuous improvement culture to ensure that the business is always audit ready. Key responsibilities: • Have a hands on approach with factory presence. • Management and development of the Technical and Quality team. • Lead all BRC and 3rd party audits ensuring the highest accreditations are upheld. • Ensure excellent relationship's with customers (retailers & food service) are upheld • First point of contact for all customer complaints and enquiries. • Management of suppliers including development of a supplier management system. • Maintenance of the GMP and Hygiene standards across the business. • Management of QMS, food safety systems and documentation for the site. • Manage all quality issues through investigation, root cause analysis and ensuring that all is resolved in a timely manner. • Work closely with the NPD team to ensure all products from concept to launch comply with Technical and Quality standards. The candidate: • Hold a degree in a food science or similar • At least 3 years experience working in a similar role with customer facing experience • A good working knowledge of BRCGS version 9 • Lead auditor qualified and has HACCP level 3+ • Previous team management experience required. • Computer literate with Microsoft Office knowledge If you are an experience technical manager and on the look out for a new challenge, please apply with an up to date CV.
