Alexander Steele Recruitment are working with one of Europe's largest food manufacturers who produce a vast range of quality products for retailers, food service outlets and B2B. Due to growth and product demand the business is looking to appoint an experienced Customer Technical Manager to their Technical function. On offer: • Salary £55,000 to £60,000 doe + bonus • Car allowance • 32 days holiday • Enhanced company pension • Private healthcare As Customer Technical Manager you will be the primary contact for key customer accounts and liaise with them for all technical matters. You work closely with technical functions across the business to ensure that only the highest standards are reached. Key accountabilities: • Ensure standards are met and maintained with regard to specifications, product quality, factory standards and legal requirements by communicating across the technical functions. • Manage the flow of information between supplying sites and customers. • Work cross collaboratively with site Technical Managers and other business functions to deliver a consistent reduction in complaints. • Lead and drive from a technical perspective all NPD from concept to launch. • Support the business sites to uphold external accreditations by representing the business site audits and developing corrective action plans. • Liaise with and support the Technologists to ensure that accurate customer specifications are created and maintained. • Implement new customer COPs and legislation into the business. • Continual monitoring of legislation and industry guidelines. • Create, collate and manage the product file system to guarantee integrity and accuracy of information held by the business for its customers. • Facilitate and provide technical support with the launch of products. • Establish product quality and benchmarking panels to monitor the product performance and quality, providing feedback to relevant teams. The candidate: • Degree or equivalent in Food Science or similar science discipline would be desirable • A proven track record of effective technical management of major UK retailer and food service customers. • Excellent communication skills to be able to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all level. • Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor qualification / experience • HACCP and auditing (site and supplier is desirable) qualifications • Be able to travel UK wide regularly.
