Alexander Steele continue to partner with a multi site chilled food manufacturer that supply a range of products to all UK retailers, food service and B2B. Due to increased product demand and growth, we are supporting the business to appoint a Customer Technical Manager at their large facility in Hertfordshire. On offer: • A salary of £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience • An attractive bonus • 33 days holiday • Matched company pension • Healthcare scheme • Excellent career growth and development opportunities The role: Reporting to the Technical Director, this role will provide a comprehensive technical service to key retailer accounts for the business. You will ensure exceptional standards of integrity, food safety and legality for both the company and customer. Key accountabilities: • Key point of contact for customers (UK retailers) • Work with the internal customer functions to ensure technical agenda is in line with the business objectives. • You will visit customer sites and host customer visits to suppliers and at the business facility. • Management of customer specifications. • Creation and maintenance of technical policies which are to be in-line with customer policies and procedures. • Manage NPD and Innovation projects for your key customers - work closely with product developers, suppliers and procurement to formulate and deliver. • Facilitate and provide technical support with the launch of products. • Look for continuous improvement and optimisation of systems and processes. Candidate requirements: • At least 3 years experience working in Customer Technical role and experience working with Major UK retailers (Tesco, M&S, JS etc.) • A degree in Food Science or equivalent. • The ability to manage projects & improving processes • Significant experience of food safety and quality management systems including HACCP, and complaint handling. • Excellent communication is required to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
