Alexander Steele is partnering with a successful manufacturing business who are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the smooth running of a fast-paced manufacturing site by delivering effective maintenance, resolving breakdowns, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical and automation systems (PLCs, HMIs, drives, SCADA).
- Diagnose and resolve faults quickly to minimise downtime.
- Support with mechanical maintenance as part of a multi-skilled approach.
- Monitor system performance and suggest improvements for efficiency and reliability.
- Maintain accurate documentation of electrical and automation systems.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Use CMMS for work orders, spares, and maintenance scheduling.
- Participate in continuous improvement and project work (including Capex).
- Support training and development of colleagues.
- Minimum 5 years’ electrical experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, control circuits, motors, and fault-finding.
- Hands-on experience with PLCs (e.g. Siemens).
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation/Maintenance (or international equivalent).
- Experience in breakdowns, planned maintenance, and routine checks.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Competent in using CMMS and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and safety awareness.
- Flexible and able to work independently or within a team on a rotating shift basis.
