Job Title: Shift Engineer

Salary: £48,308 + £3,000 shift allowance.

Reporting to: Engineering Shift Lead - Engineering Manager

Shift Pattern: 7/14 rotating days and nights: 6.45am to 7.15pm or 6.45pm to 7.15am

(12.5 hour shifts).

Location: Norfolk (exact location given if interested in the role).

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all production equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues as they arise, minimizing downtime production.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery as required.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance and improvement tracking.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Work closely with the production team to understand equipment needs and ensure optimal performance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

 

Shift Pattern- 7/14- rotating days and nights

Requirements

  • Relevant engineering qualifications or a time-served apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Experience in a similar engineering role within a manufacturing or food processing environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations related to engineering and manufacturing.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn.
  • Good communication skills for effectively collaborating with team members and management.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and respond to operational needs as required.
