Job Title: Shift Engineer

Salary: £48,308 + £3,000 shift allowance.

Reporting to: Engineering Shift Lead - Engineering Manager

Shift Pattern: 7/14 rotating days and nights: 6.45am to 7.15pm or 6.45pm to 7.15am

(12.5 hour shifts).

Location: Norfolk (exact location given if interested in the role).

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all production equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues as they arise, minimizing downtime production.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery as required.
Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance and improvement tracking.
Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
Work closely with the production team to understand equipment needs and ensure optimal performance.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

Relevant engineering qualifications or a time-served apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering.
Experience in a similar engineering role within a manufacturing or food processing environment.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Understanding of health and safety regulations related to engineering and manufacturing.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn.
Good communication skills for effectively collaborating with team members and management.
Flexibility to work shifts and respond to operational needs as required.
