We're working with a leading food manufacturer in the Manchester area who are on the lookout for a strong Front Line Manager to join their production team.

This is a people-first, performance-driven role focused on leading a team within a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment. You’ll support the Manufacturing Shift Lead in driving key metrics across Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People - while helping shape a culture of continuous improvement and accountability on the shop floor.

The Role:

  • Support staffing plans and optimise manning levels throughout seasonal peaks and troughs
  • Oversee team performance across KPIs such as yield, waste, product quality, and line efficiency
  • Lead daily huddles, team briefs and handovers to ensure clear communication and alignment
  • Champion training and development - mentoring new starters and upskilling your team
  • Play a key role in CI initiatives using A3 methodology and structured problem-solving
  • Ensure compliance with H&S, Food Safety, and GMP at all times
  • Monitor and maintain your team’s skills matrix, helping build strong succession planning
  • Actively contribute to site environmental and sustainability goals

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in a high-paced manufacturing/production setting (food or FMCG preferred)
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams to exceed KPIs
  • Comfortable with standard work routines and structured CI methodologies
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety and Food Safety practices
  • Capable of coaching and developing individuals at all levels
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Organised, analytical, and IT literate
  • Comfortable working rotating shifts across both days and nights

What’s On Offer:

  • Competitive salary of £40,114 per annum
  • 4-day working week (rotating shifts)
  • Enhanced pension + maternity/paternity packages
  • Life assurance cover
  • Retail discounts & on-site company shop
  • Strong learning and development culture
  • Employee recognition programmes
  • Supportive leadership team and collaborative work culture

If you're a team-focused leader with a passion for driving performance and developing people - this could be a brilliant next step in your career.
