Day Shift Operator – Leading Drinks Manufacturer
📍 Inverness-shire
🕒 Full-Time | Rotating Shift Pattern | Permanent
Alexander Steele is working in partnership with a well-known drinks manufacturer in the Inverness-shire area to recruit for multiple roles within production. One of the current opportunities is for a Day Shift Operator to join their operational team on a permanent basis.
Role Overview
The position follows a three-week rotation:

Two weeks of 12-hour shifts (8am – 8pm)

One week of standard days (8am – 4.30pm)
-
Additional night shift coverage (approx. 6 weeks per year during harvest)

Flexibility is required to cover holidays and sickness
Key Responsibilities
-
Operate equipment to support production and drying processes
-
Transfer barley and malt through various stages of production
-
Maintain cleanliness across work areas, including confined spaces
-
Support with weighbridge operations and site vehicle movements

Assist engineering teams when required

Follow all safety procedures, including wearing full PPE
-
Maintain accurate records in line with quality standards
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
-
Literate, numerate, and able to follow written procedures
-
Physically fit and comfortable working in confined spaces
-
Reliable and flexible with a willingness to adapt to changing shift patterns
-
Able to work unsupervised and take initiative
-
Full UK driving licence
-
Computer literate
Desirable:
-
Forklift truck experience
-
FiM & GMC qualifications
-
Previous experience in a production or process environment
