Job Title: Senior Planner
Location: Glasgow
Department: Supply Chain / Planning
Reports to: Planning Manager / Supply Chain Manager
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum + Benefits


About the Role

Alexander Steele are working in partnership with a leading food manufacturer based in Glasgow who are looking to appoint a Senior Planner to join their supply chain function. This is a key role within the business, responsible for leading the production planning process to ensure efficient scheduling, optimal stock levels, and a high level of service delivery to customers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage short-, medium-, and long-term production plans in line with customer demand and sales forecasts

  • Monitor daily production schedules and adjust planning to reflect changes in supply, demand, or factory capacity

  • Work closely with operations, technical, procurement, logistics, and commercial teams to align planning activities

  • Analyse data to improve forecast accuracy and inventory performance

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives within planning and scheduling processes

  • Deliver regular planning KPIs and supply chain reports to senior stakeholders

  • Support ERP/MRP system use and enhancements, including SAP or FactoryMaster where applicable


Requirements

  • Experience in a production planning role within food manufacturing or FMCG

  • Good knowledge of supply chain processes and planning systems (MRP/ERP/SAP)

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management

  • High attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure

  • Strong Excel and system skills

  • Experience working in chilled, meat, bakery, dairy, or similar environments is advantageous
