Job Title: Senior Planner

Reports to: Planning Manager / Supply Chain Manager
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum + Benefits
About the Role
Alexander Steele are working in partnership with a leading food manufacturer based in Glasgow who are looking to appoint a Senior Planner to join their supply chain function. This is a key role within the business, responsible for leading the production planning process to ensure efficient scheduling, optimal stock levels, and a high level of service delivery to customers.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage short-, medium-, and long-term production plans in line with customer demand and sales forecasts

Monitor daily production schedules and adjust planning to reflect changes in supply, demand, or factory capacity

Work closely with operations, technical, procurement, logistics, and commercial teams to align planning activities

Analyse data to improve forecast accuracy and inventory performance

Lead continuous improvement initiatives within planning and scheduling processes

Deliver regular planning KPIs and supply chain reports to senior stakeholders

Support ERP/MRP system use and enhancements, including SAP or FactoryMaster where applicable
Requirements
-
Experience in a production planning role within food manufacturing or FMCG
-
Good knowledge of supply chain processes and planning systems (MRP/ERP/SAP)

Strong analytical and numerical skills

Excellent communication and stakeholder management
-
High attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure

Strong Excel and system skills
-
Experience working in chilled, meat, bakery, dairy, or similar environments is advantageous
