Shift Manager – Food Manufacturing
London | £45,000 + Benefits | Monday–Friday (with occasional cover)

Alexander Steele is proud to be working in partnership with a leading food manufacturing business based in West London. We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Shift Manager to join their team and take ownership of day-to-day operations, ensuring excellence in production and people leadership.

The Role
As Shift Manager, you will be responsible for leading a production shift, delivering results safely and efficiently, while developing a high-performing team culture. This is a Monday to Friday role, with occasional flexibility required to cover other shifts during periods of absence or operational need.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of operators and line leaders to deliver production targets
Drive a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the shift
Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and hygiene standards
Utilise automation systems effectively to support efficient operations
Coach, support and develop team members to enhance engagement and performance
Monitor KPIs and escalate any issues impacting shift performance

What We're Looking For

Proven experience as a Shift Manager or similar role in food manufacturing
Strong people leadership skills, with a track record of team development
Confident working with automated production equipment
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to drive change
Good understanding of food safety and quality standards (HACCP, GMP)
